Artist Statement

“I know where I’m from, but where am I going tomorrow?”

Travel fascinates me after having been moved around as a kid. Dramatic light and atmosphere fuels my curiosity, which is the foundation for my imagery.

Prints

All photos are available on a wide range of media. Paper and canvas images are made by me at my home studio.

Museum grade, cotton fiber photo paper features a warm shade that brings elegance and nuance to the image.

Floating images feature a hand-torn deckled edge.

“Lumachrome” acrylic mount

The most exquisite method of displaying images. The image is mounted at the back of museum-grade acrylic, allowing details to emerge from deep within the photo. The result can be described as 3D and holographic.

All are presented with non-glare acrylic, with a recessed floating frame. Sizes under 24x36” have a 1/8” backing. Sizes 24x36” and above have polished edges and 1/4” backing. Sizes 32x48” and above have a wall-mounted cleat for hanging.

  • 20x30: $900

  • 24x36: $1500

  • 32x48: $2900

  • 40x60: $4300

  • 48x72: $5000

Process

Some images are planned, others are found. I create each image with a healthy respect for the subject, and a desire to share it with a sense of nostalgia and whimsy. Finished pieces are presented on archival papers and canvas. Handle with care and they will last for generations. Enjoy!

Biography

Around age seven, my father invited me to keep him company in the darkroom. (Didn’t everybody have a darkroom in their house?) At that age -- as well as at my current age -- seeing a white piece of paper turn into an image is magic.

In college, a study abroad class in Tuscany changed how I saw the world. That sense of exploring a new land refocused my interests into photography.

  • 2003 - Received Bachelor of Fine Arts from Oklahoma State University

  • 2004 to 2008 - Aligned my interests into photography

  • 2008 - Started offering fine art and commercial photography

  • Today - Do a bit of everything

I live in Perkins, Oklahoma. (Look for the orange glow of Stillwater and head south!)
